This is a social group for folks with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder that meets weekly on Wednesday evenings at 7:00. It will meet at veggie heaven in Teaneck, a vegetarian restaurant.
The meeting is meant to be supportive, not dictatorial. Therefore it is not 12 step.
The tone is set for friendly discussions. possibly there will be group outings, movies and meals together for those comfortable doing so. if folks care to discuss past and future treatment, that is up to them. Hopefully the group will meet once a week, but that is not obligatory.
There are no fees. The group will be Non 12 step.
The group is intended to be tolerant, but no outright proselytizing please.
Those who can't respect others rights to their own spirituality, atheism, agnosticism, Unitarianism, humanism, and any other ism, will be asked to put a lid on it, 5 times. Then offered a very large peanut butter and jelly sandwich with 8 half table spoons of jam and ten huge smears of speech impeding super thick chunky peanut butter, each applied while counting to 10; and their drink will be hidden from them.
OCD related movies will be shown at times, when available and will be chosen as a group.
please contact me before attending the wednesday meet up. via email through my profile. the group does not always have enough attendies, so it is called off.
