Announcing a new Meetup for Hackensack Obsessive Compulsive Disorder Meetup Group!

What: ocd weekly wednesday veggie heaven meetup

When: March 11, 2009 7:00 PM

Where: Click the link below to find out!

Meetup Description: i just listed us with the National Obsessive Compulsive Foundation. I pegged a weeknight, Wednesday, for our Meet-ups in order to get the information out there that under no undefinite terms there will be a regular weekly support group meeting. It makes things more concrete and streamlined and the OCF and any other organization is more likely to accept a group listing that is definate.
I have committed myself to being at Veggie Heaven every Wednesday eve from 7:00 pm on.
Whether anyone shows up or not....
Hopefully we will soon be getting some new members.

so here it is.

Greg,

I just created your listing in our database, so you are all set!

Best,

Rebecca

I would be happy to list your new support group in our database. In order to make sure that we provide our public with enough information about your group, please fill out the following information:

Email: newdlhead@aol.com

Website: http://ocd.meetup.com...

Meeting location: Veggie Heaven restaurant, Teaneck, New Jersey

Group open to (Adults, Teens, and/or Children w/ OCD; Parents of children with OCD; Family Members/Friends of people with OCD; etc.):

Adults, teens, with ocd. Family members, friends of people with ocd, so long as family members are supportive and non judgmental, not abrasive and disruptive.

On another night yet to be determined, children with ocd, parents of children with ocd, family members/friends of children with ocd.

Yet to be determined is contingent on whether or not the adult group minds having children around, if they do, I would set up another night for parents/children. When? Contingent on group consensus. That group would be a relaxing and social setting as well. Veggie Heaven is a family oriented restaurant and welcomes families with children of all ages.

Meeting days and times: Wednesday nights, 7:00pm. weekly.

Members are not obligated to attend every week.

Fee: None as of yet, if and when; to cover meetup.com fees, at most, one dollar a person

Group type (will the group be OCA, or Professionally led, etc.):

The group will Purely social and relaxing. Non 12 step. General discussion. Just like any other social gathering.

Additional info: Member willing, I hope to plan outings, movie nights, board game nights, etc.

About Veggie Heaven;

Veggie Heaven is a vegan restaurant, but has very good dishes and mock meat. Their regular vegetable dishes are just like any vegetable dish in a Chinese restaurant, so there should be plenty to please non vegans. a vegan is a vegetarian that does not eat dairy or eggs. Non vegan / vegetarians are welcome. I also run a vegan/vegetarian social Meetup that meets at this establishment that welcomes meat eating 'vegetarian curious' individuals who often chuckle at how much the food appeals to them, it is often felt to be much better than these individuals expect.

The restaurant is large, there is plenty of room, we can get a table off to the side away from the crowd and have sufficient privacy. They have a banquet section often not in use, if not in use on nights we are there, there is a possibility we can take a table in that space and have total privacy. And the bathrooms are spotless.

Items on the menu range from $3 to $6 appetizers, $6 veggie burgers or sandwiches to $13 main courses, and $4 vegan dessert cakes and smoothies. Very reasonably priced. And if one is not hungry they can sip water. A small complimentary cabbage salad is given to all upon being seated. So one can have a little bite to eat and not feel so out of place being the only one not ordering a meal.

The billing will be separate so all have control of what they spend.

Pardon the specifics on the restaurant, I would hope those attending would have a better idea of what the place is like in hopes of them having a higher comfort level when dealing with the anticipation and anxiety related to preparing to go out and be social. Directions to Veggie Heaven. It is in Teaneck on the main street, which is called Ceder Lane. It is on the same side of the street as the theater in the center of town, one block to the east, at a traffic light / T bone intersection. Many buses stop right in front of the establishment, 175, 753, 168, 755, and 780.

Once I receive an email response from you with this information I will be able to create a listing for your group in our database. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns!

Best,

Rebecca

Thank you so much!

-Greg
